Zou Bisou Bisou

Welcome to Brooklyn Bisou💋, or as they say in French: Bienvenue!

About a year and a half ago, our little family of four took a trip to Paris and Tuscany for my husband’s 40th birthday. From the moment we stepped off the airplane, I felt inspired. And suddenly I started writing again. It had been a very long time. YEARS. Late at night and in the wee hours of the morning (thanks, jet lag!) the words flowed out of me. That trip was the beginning of something. Not just a creative awakening, but a shift in perspective. It put us on a path to move here. To Paris. The City of Light.

There are so many places I could begin this story, but I think it’s appropriate to start with the vacation that put us on the trajectory here. I’ve saved my travelogues and photos from that trip and will post those first, then post more recent stories and adventures. My hope is that you will learn something new, laugh a bit and feel as if you are right here with us on this journey. If you’re not able to take a proper vacay, you can always take a lovely virtual voyage through words and photographs.

Of course there are also videos to transport us to special places. In honor of my first ever Brooklyn Bisouđź’‹ post, I’d like to share a smoochy song sung in 1960 by then 16-year-old Gillian Hills called “Zou Bisou Bisou.” There seems to be very little going on in this music video at first, but trust me – it has an ending that rivals an M. Night Shyamalan movie. I never saw it coming! Click ici to watch. Remember when Jessica ParĂ© covered this song on Mad Men? Ahhhh, I miss that show!

Bisous đź’‹đź’‹,

Brook
